About the network

COMMON FORUM on Contaminated Land in Europe is an informal network of contaminated land policy makers, regulators and technical advisors from Environment Authorities across Europe.

COMMON FORUM has been initiated in 1994 and established by national governments and agencies in EU Member States, Norway and Switzerland, holding an interest in technical and policy issues regarding contaminated land and groundwater management. The network aims to discuss and develop strategies for managing and remediating contaminated sites, as well as land recycling with respect to protect natural resources.

Missions:

  • Being a platform for exchange of knowledge and experience,
  • Establishing interfaces for policy, science and practice to innovate concepts for contaminated land,
  • Offering expertise to thematically related European and international networks, the European Commission and stakeholders.
