Forthcoming events

Dear Colleagues,

Our future meetings will be held back to back important european events:

  • in July, in Trieste (Italy), with the NICOLE - CF Joint Workshop on opportunities, challenges and financial consequences of evolving legislation in Europe,
  • in September, in Salzburg (Austria), with CONSOIL 2010.

These opportunities should increase our contributions to discussions with other stakeholders (industries, European Commission, Researchers, etc).

In parallel, we are continuing to update our work on ELD transposition and evolution of contaminated land management related legal framework. This should also help our exchanges of experiences.

The work to prepare the 10th ICCL meeting to be held in September 2011 in USA has started. We will need your contributions on active contact points in "new countries". Please send CF secretariat names and contact details for completing our invitees list.

Looking forward to seeing you soon,
Kind regards,

Call for 2010: entries on "Innovative site characterisation tools"

Over the last 10 years, NICOLE has carried out multiple projects and organised a series of workshops, providing a discussion platform and a sound technical basis for risk based management of contaminated land. Reoccurring themes in the discussions on risk-based land management are sustainability and cost-efficiency.

NICOLE is interested in promoting continuous development and improvement in these fields. In 2010 the NICOLE Steering Group decided to launch a yearly TECHNOLOGY AWARD. This award intends to stimulate people to bring forward technical innovations that can contribute to an improved practice for contaminated land management in line with the NICOLE ambition.
