Summary
|
The Trieste meeting is approaching. We are currently finalising the agenda with our Italian colleagues. If you have some special requirement, please let us know. The draft programme of the NICOLE CF Joint Workshop has been published some days ago. We hope that you will appreciate this special event dedicated to the consequences of evolving legislation in Europe.
I would like to remind you that the deadline for answering the questionnaire on legal framework in MS is end of February, 2010. Many thanks for those who already answered.

SNOWMAN UPDATE

Three new projects have been selected by SNOWMAN for their second call for proposal:
- MCA
Multi-Criteria Analysis (MCA) of remediation alternatives to access their overall impact and cost/benefit, with focus on soil function (ecosystem services and goods) and sustainability.
- INSPECT
INtegration of SPatially Explicit risks of ConTaminants in Spatial Planning and Land Management.
- REJUVENATE 2
Crop Based Systems for Sustainable Risk Based Land Management for Economically Marginal Degraded Areas,
Phase II: Demonstration projects and evaluation decision support tool.

The book:
Water System Science and Policy Interfacing
which discusses interactions between research and policy communities in the water sector has been published beginning of 2010.
The book examines the issue of integrating science into policy, with a focus on science-policy interfacing needs. It has been written by authors mixing scientific and policy knowledge from different horizons.
